Waspaloy alloy is Round Bars is an age-hardening metal alloy with high corrosion and oxidation resistance. Molybdenum up to 5% (max), titanium up to 3.25 per cent (max), aluminium about 1-2 per cent, zirconium less than 0.1 per cent, and other important chemicals make up the chemical combination of Waspaloy alloy. Waspaloy alloy round bars are best known to be used in gas turbine components and salt spray environments and compressors such as disc, rotor disc, spacers, and rings employed across aviation jet engines due to their best solution being treated material. Welding solutions for the following grades are tough, so the best techniques are to perform the material in an annealed solution first, then water quenches to reduce ageing stresses. Fabrication begins after the welding is completed. The melting range for the above waspaloy alloy is set up from 1330-1360ºC. The heat treatment is done in three sequences at the high temperature for stress rupture properties : Solution treatment- heating is made at 1080ºC, and air cool for up to 4 hours to form hardness up to 25 Rockwell C; Stabilization- heating again made with 845 ºC, and air cool for a day (24 hours); Age harden- Material heated once again, and then air cools about less than a day (16 hours) to attain hardness up to 40 Rockwell C. Similar methods are applied for the parts that require high tensile strength at room temperature and high temperatures. Scales can be formed on the alloy upon heat treatment in oxidizing environments, and this doesn’t create any bad effect on their properties.
