The chemical proportion of SS 446 is unique and comprises iron up to 73%, chromium 23-27%, nickel 0.25%, carbon up to 0.20%, phosphorus less than 0.04%, sulfur less than 0.03%, to the overall balancing of the material.
The physical properties of the SS 446 Pipe are also excellent, including tensile strength 550 Mpa, yield strength up to 345 mph, and the occupied hardness of SS 904L pipe is Rockwell B.
The welding properties of SS 446 grade pipe can be quickly done through conventional steps by avoiding oxyacetylene welding in any condition. In general, type 308 welding material can be used on the requirement. However, the scaling resistance will not be performed equal to the fundamental metal. The consideration should be taken for a coefficient of thermal expansion of fundamental and weld metal to make the welding process well.
